Diesel, A Bookstore in Oakland hosts Book Group #1 as they meet to discuss Nathanael West's The Day of the Locust on February 23 at 7pm. West's Locust, set in Hollywood, California during the Great Depression, depicts the alienation and desperation of a disparate group of individuals who exist at the fringes of the movie industry. This event is free and everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.
