Hal Hughes and George Killingsworth present "Bits of Beckett"
Diesel, A Bookstore in Oakland welcomes performance artists Hal Hughes and George Killingsworth to present Bits of Beckett on Thursday, July 11th, at 7pm.
In their collaborative piece, Hal and George perform short pieces by Samuel Beckett, including Rough for Theatre I, a scene from Endgame, "Sucking Stones" from Molloy, and Ohio Impromptu.
Hal Hughes has bounced around the fringes of the Bay Area arts world for decades, writing and playing music, acting, making and performing poems, and more, often in collaborations between art forms. As North Beach Beckett, he and George (with Jack Halton) performed Rough for Theatre I every Tuesday night for three months in Kerouac Alley (next to City Lights).
George Killingsworth has performed on Bay Area stages for the past twenty years: small roles in bigger theaters, larger roles at smaller theaters. He is particularly proud to partner with Hal in these Beckett absurdities.
This event is free and open to the public!
