Brentwood - P.J. O'Rourke discusses "Don't Vote" at Track 16 Gallery 10/07/2010 8:00 pm
With more than a million words of trenchant journalism under his byline and more citations in The Penguin Dictionary of Humorous Quotations than any other living writer, P.J. O’Rourke has established himself as America’s premier political satirist. His 14 best-selling books include Parliament of Whores, Give War a Chance, Eat the Rich, The CEO of the Sofa, Peace Kills and On the Wealth of Nations. Both Time and The Wall Street Journal have called him “the funniest writer in America.” He frequently appears on television, and is a regular panelist on National Public Radio’s Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me and is known as a hard-bitten, cigar-smoking conservative. But, in fact, he bashes all political persuasions. Says O’Rourke, “Giving money and power to government is like giving whiskey and car keys to teenage boys.” Judy Muller is an Emmy Award –winning television correspondent and NPR commentator. She is on the faculty of the USC Annenberg School for Communications and Journalism and is a regular contributor on NPR’s Morning Edition and a contributing correspondent for KCET’s SoCal Connected. She was a correspondent on ABC’s Nightline and prior to that was a correspondent on CBS News – on both television and radio. Tickets are $20 General Admission, $35 General Admission including P.J. O’Rourke’s book or $95 Reserved Seating including P.J. O’Rourke’s book. For more information and to purchase tickets, please visit Live Talks Los Angeles.
