Mac Barnett at Diesel Bookstore in OaklandDIESEL, A Bookstore in Oakland welcomes author Mac Barnett to the store as our guest bedtime reader on Friday, December 2nd at 6pm.

Pull on your PJs and bring your teddy bear to the bookstore! Author Mac Barnett will be here to read you a bedtime story. Get cozy, listen to a story or two, have some milk and cookies, and get your books signed before heading home for bed. How This Book Was Made is perfect for children ages 4-8 (and of course, their parents!).

How This Book Was Made is Mac's latest in his long line of best-selling picture books. You may think you know how this book was made, but you don't. Sure, the author wrote many drafts, and the illustrator took a long time creating the art, but then what? How'd it get into your hands? Well, open the cover and read through these pages to find out. Just beware of the pirates and angry tiger.

Mac Barnett is the New York Times best-selling author of over twenty books for children, including Count the MonkeysChloe and the LionExtra Yarn and Sam & Dave Dig a Hole.  He also writes the Terrible Two series with Jory John. Mac lives in Berkeley, California. Visit him at macbarnett.com.
