Diesel, A Bookstore in Malibu presents local artist Scott Randle in celebration of his new show, Facing Forward, Looking Back. Almost exactly 10 years ago in 1999, Scott Randle had a show in Pacific Palisades called Indian Summer Palms that inspired a whole generation of palm tree paintings. Facing Forward, Looking Back will display the abstract paintings that led up to Indian Summer Palms, some seen for the first time. Additionally presented will be a new evolution of the Palm Tree series for 2009. There will also be a sample of photography from a future show.

Scott Randle chooses the seacoast as the theme upon which he experiments with color. "Abstract painting is my real love, and the sea and sky theme is the right vehicle for me to lay down bands of color with bits of detail to add interest", he explains. Randle's love for the sea is attributed to his childhood spent in California coastal towns. Over the past 15 years, he has developed a reputation for his surf photography and seascapes.

Facing Forward, Looking Back will be on display at Diesel, A Bookstore Malibu  for 2 months.
