Burning Books reading at Diesel Bookstore Diesel, A Bookstore in Oakland presents a reading with Burning Books authors Melody Sumner Carnahan, Thomas Frick and L.K. Larsen, as well as special guest reader Laetitia Sonami, on Thursday, October 4th at 7pm. All three authors are included in The Quadrants Series, a beautifully-designed, five-novel boxed set, which will be available for purchase. Burning Books reading at Diesel Bookstore

Burning Books co-founder Melody Sumner Carnahan has nine books in print and over forty short works published in national and international periodicals and anthologies. She received an MFA in Creative Writing from Mills College, working at the Center for Contemporary Music with composers Robert Ashley and Maggi Payne. Her fiction has found form for over twenty-five years as intermedia creations in which she provides stories, lyrics, and prose for recordings, installations, video, and live performance, notably the widely praised "performance novels" of Laetitia Sonami. Thomas Frick was born in Kentucky and lives in Los Angeles where he is a writer, editor, and publishing consultant. He has received awards and fellowships for his short fiction and essays, which have been widely published. L.K. Larsen has lived in New Mexico since 1973. She received an MFA in Creative Writing from Antioch University and a Recursos 2000 Discovery Award for her poetry and short works of fiction.
