Oakland - Jonathan Evison and Joshua Mohr discuss "West of Here" 03/13/2012 7:00 pm
Diesel, A Bookstore in Oakland welcomes Jonathan Evison to the store to celebrate the paperback release of his acclaimed novel West of Here. Joining Mr. Evison in conversation will be celebrated local author Joshua Mohr. This event will take place on Tuesday, March 13th at 7pm. West of Here, which has been called "riotously funny" (NY Times Book Review) and "a creative bonanza of a novel" (Jim Lynch), takes place over numerous generations in the fictionalized town of Port Bonita, Washington. As both a sweeping historical saga, and a wonderfully detailed study of a host of tragicomic characters, West of Here is a masterful and immensely satisfying novel.
Jonathan Evison is the author of All About Lulu, which won the Washington State Book Award, and in 2009 was the recipient of a Richard Buckley Fellowship from the Christopher Isherwood Foundation. He lives on an island in Western Washington. Joshua Mohr is the author of Some Things That Meant the World to Me, Termite Parade, and, most recently, Damascus. He lives in San Francisco and teaches fiction writing.
