Mapping Book Censorship
08.28.09 Mapping Book Censorship The American Booksellers Foundation for Free Expression (ABFFE) recently released an interactive map of challenged and banned books from the last couple years, and it is an excellent visual representation of intolerance and literary ignorance. Keep in mind that these are simply some of the reported incidents and that, like many crimes, the number of unreported cases greatly outnumber what is on public record. Celebrate your freedom to read by participating in Banned Books Week, September 26 - October 3, 2009, and read a banned or challenged book!
