Brentwood - Dale Engelson Sessa discusses and signs "And All the Queen's Men"
Diesel, A Bookstore in Brentwood welcomes author Dale Engelson Sessa to the store to discuss and sign her memoir, And All the Queen's Men: A Memoir, on Saturday, November 16th at 3pm.
The initial parental relationship is the basis for so many of our future relationships as adults, whether we seek to either reclaim or refute what we once had, or find what we never did. For Dale Engelson Sessa, whose domineering father all but arranged a marriage for her at 16 to a 24-year-old with a bank account that fulfilled his own definition of a good match, that relationship set her on a hazardous path to self-identification fraught with sexual abandon, emotional disconnect, and analgesic material excess. But despite the disarray of her private life, Sessa forged her own professional path in an age where women were often told "no," pursuing her dream of running her own international television production company. In this brazen account of her own failings and secrets, Sessa ultimately emerges as an emotionally empowered woman capable of finding an enduring relationship.Dale Engelson Sessa lives with her husband in Los Angeles. She has written teleplays and screenplays, and is working a new thriller novel. Prior to publishing her memoir, she was the owner of DesignWorks, Inc., an Interior Architecture & Design firm. In the 70s and 80s, she was recognized as the first woman to be the owner of her own international TV Commercial Production Company, D. Productions, Inc., with offices in Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago. Sessa is an alumnus of UCLA, and is on the boards of Cedars-Sinai, City of Hope, and the Library Foundation of Los Angeles.
