J.D. Rothman, a former instructor of remedial freshman comp, is an Emmy-winning television writer, children's media producer, and lyricist. She is the writer of theneuroticparent.com, a favorite blog of exhausted admissions counselors and sanity-seeking parents. She lives in Santa Monica.
