Join us on Saturday August 13th at photo of Heidi Seaborn and Joel Drucker 3 pm as we welcome Heidi Seaborn to the store to discuss and sign Marilyn: Poems and Essays. Joining her in conversation will be Joel Drucker. 

This event is free to attend and will be held in the courtyard at DIESEL, A Bookstore in Brentwood. Masks are required to attend.

Honoring the 60th Anniversary of Marilyn Monroe’s death, Marilyn: Essays & Poems, Collector’s Edition includes the award-winning collection of poems, An Insomniac’s Slumber Party with Marilyn Monroe, plus a heart-breaking eulogy for Marilyn Monroe, along with essays and narrative that celebrate the poetry and spirit of the world’s most famous icon.

Described as a “tour de force” the [PANK] Poetry Prize-winning An Insomniac’s Slumber Party with Marilyn Monroe is a middle-of-the-night poetic conversation between two women who “live on the glittering edge,” a sequined meditation on what keeps us up at night and what fills our dreams.

Afte raising three children and a long business career, Heidi Seaborn started writing poetry in 2016. Since then she has authored six books or chapbooks including Marilyn: Essays & Poems [PANK] that includes the 2021 [PANK] Poetry Prize winning collection, An Insomniac’s Slumber Party with Marilyn Monroe (2021), Give a Girl Chaos (C&R Press) and the Comstock Review Prize Chapbook, Bite Marks. Heidi’s won or been shortlisted for over two dozen awards. Her work has recently appeared in BlackbirdBeloit, Brevity, Copper NickelCortland ReviewdiodeFinancial Times of LondonThe Offing, Penn Review, Radar, The Slowdown and elsewhere. She is Executive Editor of The Adroit Journal and holds an MFA in Poetry from NYU.
